At the same time as the continuation of the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly, citizens of Prishtina will gather today at “Skënderbeu” Square to protest against the decision by the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) to increase electricity prices.
The protest, organized by the well-known group “Not One Cent More”, is set to begin at 12:00 PM and aims to express citizens’ discontent over yet another price hike, which is being seen as unaffordable for the majority of Kosovar families.
The decision, made by ZRRE, foresees a 16.1% increase in electricity tariffs sparking deep dissatisfaction among citizens, particularly those from the most vulnerable social groups.
Protesters are demanding that the price hike be reversed, arguing that the additional cost of electricity will further burden citizens already grappling with a severe economic crisis.
