The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, announced this evening the success of the mediators in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that its implementation will begin this Sunday, Anadolu reports.

During a press conference held in Doha, bin Abdulrahman stated that the first phase of the agreement will last for 42 days and will include the release of 33 Israeli prisoners in exchange for an unspecified number of Palestinian prisoners.

Bin Abdulrahman noted that Qatar, Egypt, and the United States “will work to ensure the implementation of the agreement,” with mechanisms in place to monitor its enforcement and address any potential violations.

The Prime Minister of Qatar expressed hope that “no military operations will be carried out during the period leading to the implementation of the agreement.”

He added that details of the second and third phases will follow after the completion of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
