A speech by the representative of Slovenia at the UN Samuel Zbogar (former head of the EU office in Kosovo) at the session of the UN Security Council has caused the Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić to burst out with insults towards Slovenia and the Slovenian people.
He also mentioned the numbers of people who were killed in that territory during the war in Kosovo.
It seems that Vucic did not like this at all. The Serbian president, in a statement on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) Security Council session, used extremely offensive expressions that do not belong to the presidents of the states.
On Tuesday, Vucic complained that Serbia fell into a trap set for it by the US, Switzerland and Slovenia.
He even described the latter as a different state, while he was commenting on the session of the Security Council for Kosovo in which he participated.
“When the session of the Security Council was delayed, I asked what it was about, but then we realized that they had agreed on this with the Americans, the Slovenians and the Swiss. It is not known who is more disgusting, the Slovenians or someone else,” said Vucic.
The reaction of Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob was immediate.
“Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, in a statement on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) Security Council session, has used extremely offensive expressions that do not belong to the presidents of states”, his reaction reads.
Even the Serbian media themselves called an action of the Serbian president “Vučić’s new diplomatic scandal…”.
