The Kosovo Mountain Search and Rescue Association (ShKShMK) is continuing efforts to recover the body of a person believed to have fallen into a gorge in the Rugova region.
The operation involves Peja Firefighters and the Kosovo Police. Earlier reports indicated that the individual was found lifeless along the Pejë–Rugovë road, at the location known as “Kthesa e Madhe.”
Fadil Gashi, spokesperson for the Peja Police, confirmed the incident:
“Around 14:10, police were notified that at km 5 on the Pejë–Rugovë road, at ‘Kthesa e Madhe,’ near the Lumbardhi river, a person was found without signs of life. The doctor confirmed the death. Police, firefighters, and the medical team immediately responded to the scene,” Gashi stated.
The recovery operation is ongoing, and authorities are investigating the circumstances of the fall.
