A powerful storm struck Zurich on Friday afternoon, causing considerable material damage across parts of the city.

Among the reported incidents, water entered Zurich’s main railway station, while flying tree branches shattered shop windows near the The North Face area close to Sihlporte.

A tree-related accident was also reported near the Kunsthaus tram stop in Zurich. However, the media office of the local police said it was unable to immediately confirm the incident.

“For the moment, many events are unfolding simultaneously, and we ask for patience while information is being verified,” authorities stated.

The storm has also disrupted public transportation, with delays and interruptions affecting tram services in the city center.

Witnesses reported seeing several ambulances at different locations, though it remains unclear whether there were any injuries or how many people may have been affected.

Meanwhile, concerns are growing that the severe weather system could also impact Schaffhausen, where authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
