Thousands of students and citizens gathered once again in front of the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) headquarters on Takovska Street, marking the seventh consecutive night of protest and full blockade. According to Beta’s correspondent, over 15,000 people joined the demonstration—the largest turnout so far.
Key Highlights from the Protest:
- All entrances and access points to RTS were blocked, including the area in front of the Main Post Office stretching to Svetogorska Street, and Aberdareva Street.
- The crowd was energized by a live DJ performance, while protest signs read:
- “No evolution without revolution”
- “Engineering students against the machinery”
- “The faculty thinks critically”
- “Student Radio Television”
- Flags of Serbia and university banners waved throughout the rally. Protesters included citizen assemblies from various Belgrade neighborhoods and war veterans, alongside student organizers.
Solidarity from Novi Pazar Students
In a show of interfaith and intercity solidarity, students from Novi Pazar arrived to support their colleagues and relieve Orthodox students celebrating Easter (Vaskrs). They brought 3,000 traditional “mantija” pastries to distribute among the protestors in front of the RTS building and those stationed at RTS Košutnjak.
Public Figures Join In
Former Serbian national football coach Slavoljub Muslin visited the protest earlier in the day, expressing his support for the students and their demands.
