The Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has announced that the new Law on Citizenship has entered into force as of today.
In a Facebook post, Sveçla stated that one of the key facilitations introduced by the law is the reinstatement of citizenship for compatriots who, for administrative reasons, were previously required to renounce their citizenship.
“From today, the new Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo has entered into force. This law introduces faster, simpler, and more modern procedures for you. One of the key facilitations is the reinstatement of citizenship for compatriots who, for administrative reasons, were forced to renounce their citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo,” Sveçla said.
