At the “St. Naum Ohrid” University Clinic in North Macedonia, a total of 10 patients are being treated, with six of them having undergone skin transplants due to third-degree burns, according to the hospital director, Nebojsha Nastov.

According to him, the situation is fluid, and the condition of the patients may change from moment to moment.

“At the moment, there are 10 patients hospitalized in the clinic, and six of them have undergone skin transplants as they had third-degree burns. The other patients are continuing the usual bandaging, according to the plans we currently have. However, I must repeat that the situation is fluid and can change from hour to hour.”

There are no patients in more critical condition, Nastov added. Currently, only six patients are in critical condition and are being treated abroad.

Starting Monday, the discharge of patients for home treatment will begin.

“There is an improvement in the condition, and from Monday, some patients will be discharged to go home. From the department I am in charge of, the discharge of patients for home treatment will start. I had already warned that from the beginning of next week, discharges will begin.”

However, tomorrow, protocols are expected for the first patients returning from abroad who are in good health.

Currently, 54 patients are being treated in the country, 27 at the Clinical Center, 11 at the “8 September” General Hospital, 10 at the City General Hospital, and six patients are being treated in private clinics.
