The Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabic, has commented on the detention of members of the Kosovo Police by Serbian authorities on Wednesday.
The head of the Serbian parliament justifies the detentions, saying they are “protecting the constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia.”
“I suppose people have finally responded to calls to protect the constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia and every single institution in this country. No one from the international community has reacted for years to everything Albin Kurti is doing, mistreating those people. I think they will welcome this now.”
On Wednesday, hundreds of citizens from Kosovo were blocked by Serbia at the border point with Croatia.
Serbian authorities detained 10 police officials, including deputy director Dejan Jankoviq.
Five of them were released on Wednesday, and today four more were released, but not Jankoviq, who has now been placed under a 48-hour detention order.
