Thousands of people in the German city of Osnabrück were evacuated early on Sunday after authorities discovered four bombs dating back to World War II. The central railway station was closed, and the surrounding area was designated as an evacuation zone. Deutsche Bahn (DB), Germany’s state-owned railway company, confirmed the disruptions, stating that long-distance and freight transport would be affected throughout the day.

Approximately 15,400 residents were required to leave their homes as the bombs were found in the former city warehouse yard. If the bombs are confirmed to be unexploded, experts will be called in for their disposal. The city, located about 70 kilometers east of the Dutch border, has experienced repeated evacuations due to the discovery of WWII bombs in the area.
