The Assembly of Kosovo has announced that the 13th constitutive session held today was interrupted due to a lack of votes needed to form the commission that would enable a secret ballot for electing the Speaker of the Assembly, reports Rks News.

According to the official announcement, the session will resume on Sunday, May 11, at 10:00 AM.

“The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo convened today for the next continuation of its constitutive session. Under the chairmanship of MP Avni Dehari, the session once again failed to reach a quorum during the voting procedure for the establishment of the electoral commission for the secret ballot election of the Assembly Speaker. Dehari called on the parliamentary political entities PDK, LDK, the Serb List, and AAK-Nisma to each propose a member for the commission. In the absence of proposals, Dehari put to a vote the composition of the commission based on members proposed in previous continuations of the session.

After confirming that 56 deputies voted in favor, one against, and no abstentions, Chair Dehari announced the session’s suspension and stated that it will resume on Sunday, May 11, at 10:00 AM,” the announcement states.
