A person in the municipality of Prilep, North Macedonia, has lost their life after being struck by lightning.
The Regional Crisis Management Center (RCMC) in Bitola reported that around 17:39, an emergency call was received via the 112 number, informing authorities of a deceased person, who was likely struck by lightning in the village of Mazhuchishte, Prilep Municipality.
Following the report, the Department of Operations and Coordination of the Central Military Commission immediately notified the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Emergency Medical Services to take further action.
According to the latest information received from RCMC Bitola, the person from the village of Mazhuchishte was indeed struck by lightning and was transported to the emergency medical unit in Prilep, where their death was confirmed.
