A collision between two passenger trains in Denmark has left several people injured, according to local emergency services.

The incident occurred near the town of Hillerød, north of Copenhagen, where two local trains collided under circumstances that are still unclear.

A spokesperson for the fire department confirmed that passengers were injured but did not provide an exact number or details about their condition. Authorities said all passengers have been evacuated from the trains and no one remains trapped.

Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet reported that preliminary information suggests between five and ten people were injured in the accident.

Police and multiple rescue teams were deployed to the scene shortly after the collision. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

Police confirmed that the accident took place on the railway line between Hillerød and Kagerup, in the Isterødvejen area. The section of the track has been closed and is expected to remain shut for an extended period while emergency and investigative work continues.

Officials have urged drivers and commuters to follow traffic instructions as disruptions in the area are expected to continue.
