U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Jared Isaacman to lead the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
The 41-year-old is a private astronaut, billionaire, and close collaborator of Elon Musk. Isaacman has flown to space twice on missions arranged by his Polaris program.
“Jared will lead NASA’s mission for discovery and inspiration, paving the way for groundbreaking achievements in science, technology, and space exploration,” Trump said in a post on his platform, “Truth Social.”
