U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken out following Russia’s double missile strike on the city of Sumy in central Ukraine, calling the act a “mistake,” reports Rks News.

The attack, which occurred on Saturday, is suspected to have involved cluster munitions, aimed at maximizing casualties and instilling fear among the civilian population.

The Iskander missiles used in the strike are known for their high precision. The use of two such missiles has been interpreted as a clear signal of intent and malice. According to analysts, this act was designed to punish and intimidate Ukrainians, applying psychological pressure to force them into submission to Russian demands, CNN reported.

In his statement, Trump emphasized that “The Kremlin doesn’t appear to feel the need to admit a mistake, as these tactics have become routine for Moscow.” He also added that Russia “needs to move,” but did not offer a specific timeline or concrete measures, raising questions about the effectiveness of U.S. policy toward Russian aggression.
