U.S. President Donald Trump has renewed his legal battle against The Wall Street Journal, filing a new defamation lawsuit against its publishers.

The case relates to a report by the newspaper about an alleged “lewd” letter Trump is said to have sent to financier Jeffrey Epstein for his birthday in 2003. Trump has consistently denied these claims.

A Florida court previously dismissed the initial lawsuit, ruling that it had not been proven that the newspaper acted with actual malice in publishing the material.

In the new filing, Trump repeats the defamation allegations and is once again seeking at least $10 billion in damages, claiming the reporting is unfounded.

The Wall Street Journal and its publishers have not yet commented on the new lawsuit.

Trump has been engaged in ongoing legal disputes with several major U.S. media outlets, which he has accused of biased and hostile reporting.
