The United States Department of the Treasury has announced a new round of sanctions targeting individuals, organizations, and vessels linked to Iran, according to reports.
The measures include sanctions against three individuals, nine vessels, and 17 entities—comprising companies and organizations—based on an updated list published on the Treasury’s official website.
The move is part of Washington’s continued efforts to increase pressure on Tehran amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and concerns over its regional activities.
The announcement follows recent remarks by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who stated that the United States would not renew a sanctions waiver that had previously allowed the purchase of Russian and Iranian oil transported via maritime routes.
The decision signals a tightening of U.S. economic measures, particularly in the energy sector, as part of broader efforts to curb financial flows linked to Iran.
