The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced a new initiative aimed at helping and financially rewarding illegal immigrants who choose to leave the United States and return to their countries of origin, reports Rks News.

This measure is an effort to better manage immigration and encourage those in illegal situations in the U.S. to voluntarily return to their home country by offering them opportunities to start a new life without having to go through complicated deportation processes.

In addition to financial assistance and providing travel tickets for self-deportation, including a free one-way ticket, the Department of Homeland Security will pay an additional $1,000 to those who can prove that they have returned to their home country.

The program aims to provide immediate support for immigrants and reduce the burden on U.S. authorities who are facing a high influx of illegal immigrants.

The ministry confirmed that an illegal immigrant has already benefited from this opportunity and returned to Honduras. Additionally, a number of tickets have been reserved for this week and next week to allow other immigrants to take advantage of the program.
