Albanian-American activist Harry Bajraktari has announced that he sent an official letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, expressing concerns regarding the legal proceedings against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

In a statement shared on social media, Bajraktari revealed that the letter calls for stronger U.S. engagement to ensure fair judicial processes at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, where trials involving former KLA commanders are currently underway.

Bajraktari emphasized that, as a U.S. citizen and representative of the Albanian-American community, he requested concrete action from Washington to guarantee fair trials for several former Kosovo leaders, including Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi, along with others currently detained in The Hague.

According to Bajraktari, the letter highlights concerns over the judicial process and stresses the importance of international oversight to ensure justice and transparency in the trials involving former Kosovo wartime figures.

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers, based in The Hague, were established to handle allegations related to crimes committed during and after the Kosovo conflict. The proceedings remain closely monitored by international actors and have sparked ongoing political and public debate among Kosovo’s institutions and diaspora communities.
