President Vjosa Osmani paid tribute at the memorial plaque for fallen NATO soldiers in “Mother Teresa” Square in Prishtina.

“On the anniversary of NATO’s intervention in Kosovo, we remember one of the most decisive moments in our modern history. On March 24, 1999, faced with a human tragedy caused by Serbia’s genocidal actions, the world’s most powerful democratic military alliance took decisive steps to halt the regime’s brutality. This act ended a dark era and paved the way for freedom and peace. NATO’s intervention remains a symbol of the call to act in defense of universal values—a call that was translated into historic responsibility. Eternal gratitude to the men and women of NATO who stood on the right side of history,” Osmani said.

She emphasized that this day reminds us that freedom and peace require ongoing commitment, and that decisive action in critical moments shapes history.
