Albania and Kosovo have strengthened economic cooperation in recent years. Data from INSTAT show that exports from Albania in the first two months of 2026 increased by 1 billion lek compared to the beginning of 2025, reaching 6.3 billion lek. Imports from Kosovo also grew, reaching 1.8 billion lek. However, during the Albania–Kosovo business forum, it was emphasized that there is still room for both countries to expand economic relations further.
Laura Saro, Director of the Investment Agency, stated that Albania and Kosovo must work together to face global competition and challenges.
The Albanian ambassador to Kosovo highlighted ongoing efforts to further reduce bureaucratic barriers for businesses between the two countries.
According to official data, Kosovo remains the leading investor in Albania. From January to September 2025, Kosovo maintained its first position in terms of investments in Albania, reaching a total of 153 million euros.
Kosovo’s investments in Albania focus mainly on services and trade, expanding into retail, real estate, construction, and also into the manufacturing industry.
