Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, held an official visit to Paris today, where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. President Macron congratulated Kurti on his re-election and new mandate, while Kurti expressed gratitude for France’s continued support for Kosovo.

The meeting was also attended by French Minister Delegate for Europe Benjamin Haddad, Kosovo’s Ambassador to France Mehdi Halimi, and Consul General in Strasbourg Lulzim Hiseni. Discussions highlighted NATO’s ongoing role in Kosovo, particularly the KFOR mission, as well as European Union missions in the country.

Prime Minister Kurti reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to European integration and alignment with EU policies. “Kosovo remains fully aligned with the EU’s foreign and security policy,” he stated, emphasizing the country’s progress across multiple sectors, as noted in the latest EU report. He requested France’s support for Kosovo’s EU integration and membership in international organizations.

The leaders also discussed security issues, including Kosovo’s borders, strengthening defensive capabilities, relations with Serbia within the Brussels dialogue framework, and cooperation with NATO allies. “Kosovo’s security is first and foremost the security of its borders,” Kurti emphasized.

Economic cooperation and investments in education were also on the agenda, along with plans for new Kosovo–France business forums. Support from France was additionally requested for the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games.
