Lutfi Haziri, a deputy from LDK, confirmed that Lumir Abdixhiku, the party leader, will meet with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti on Monday morning to discuss the ongoing process for electing a new president.
Haziri noted that Kosovo is currently experiencing a domestic political crisis as the term of President Vjosa Osmani nears its end. He emphasized that the delay in appointing a new president affects both the executive branch and citizens’ daily lives.
He explained that LVV (Vetëvendosje) has aimed since last year to have one of its representatives assume the acting presidency during this transitional period, with Albulena Haxhiu taking on the role temporarily.
Haziri stressed that while LDK remains open to cooperation in the political process, no specific presidential candidate has been discussed with Kurti so far. The meeting on Monday will focus on coordinating the next steps for resuming the presidential election process.
