Deputy Speaker of the Assembly from Democratic Party of Kosovo, Vlora Çitaku, stated after the adoption of the Resolution on the truth and dignity of war victims that unity is “possible and necessary” when it comes to history and the sacrifice of the people, noting that this was proven through a unanimous vote.

The Assembly of Kosovo approved the resolution today with 90 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions.

“Today, the Assembly of Kosovo rose above political differences and spoke with one voice for the truth and dignity of war victims. I thank all MPs who supported this resolution, demonstrating responsibility and respect for the sacrifice of our people. With the solemnity this issue requires, this decision should serve as a standard for any treatment of our history,” Çitaku said.

Regarding the exhibition by Shkëlzen Gashi, which reportedly contained inaccuracies about massacres during the war, Çitaku added: “Let the recent exhibition in the square be the last time attempts are made to distort our historical truth.”
