The Government of Kosovo, led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, held an electronic meeting on Thursday, during which several key decisions were reviewed and approved, including the allocation of funds to settle financial obligations carried over from the previous year.

Among the central decisions was the adjustment of budget allocations to ensure the fulfillment of outstanding contractual and financial commitments from 2025. The move aims to stabilize public finances and ensure continuity in government operations.

The cabinet also approved the draft Law on Energy, as well as the draft Law on the Central Inspectorate for Agriculture, Food Safety, Veterinary Services, and Forestry—measures intended to strengthen regulatory oversight and align with sectoral reforms.

In addition, the government endorsed changes to budget tables under the Law on Budget Appropriations for 2026. These adjustments will enable proper accounting treatment of expenditures incurred during the temporary financing period in the first quarter of 2026, ensuring they align with the updated administrative structure of ministries.

The decisions reflect ongoing efforts by Kosovo’s institutions to improve fiscal management, enhance legal frameworks, and maintain budgetary discipline.
