Kosovo’s national futsal team has continued its strong performance in the World Cup 2028 qualifiers, securing a second consecutive victory in the Group D preliminary mini-tournament held in Igalo, Montenegro.

The team defeated Austria with a convincing 6–3 win, confirming its qualification for the next stage of the competition.

Strong attacking performance

The match was played at a high tempo from the start, with both teams creating chances early on. However, Kosovo showed greater efficiency in decisive moments.

Kosovo national futsal team took the lead through Shefki Kameri in the 11th minute, before Ramadan Alaj delivered a standout performance by scoring four goals (19’, 23’, 32’, and 37’), becoming the key player of the match.

Shqiprim Imeri also contributed with a goal in the 28th minute.

For Austria, Gustavo scored twice (16’, 36’), while Alex Flögel added another goal in the 22nd minute, but it was not enough to stop Kosovo’s momentum.

Qualification secured

With this victory, Kosovo has already secured advancement to the “Main Round” of the World Cup 2028 qualification process, as the top two teams from the group progress to the next stage.

Kosovo will play its final group match against Montenegro on Sunday at 19:30, a game that will determine the group winner.
