The Assembly of Kosovo has approved in principle the draft law on amendments and supplements to the Law on Accounting, Financial Reporting and Auditing.
The legislative proposal, officially registered as Draft Law No. 10/L-025, passed its first reading with 62 votes in favor and two against, marking a key step in the legislative process.
The amendments aim to update the existing legal framework governing accounting standards, financial reporting obligations, and auditing practices in Kosovo. While detailed provisions are expected to be further reviewed during subsequent readings, the reform is seen as part of broader efforts to align Kosovo’s financial governance with international standards and improve transparency in both public and private sectors.
Following this initial approval, the draft law will proceed to committee review and further parliamentary debate before a final vote.
