The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has stated that the country is open to allowing military operations by the United States from Albanian territory, on the condition that air defense is guaranteed.

In an interview during an economic forum in Greece, Rama emphasized that Albania currently lacks sufficient air defense capabilities, making this a fundamental requirement for any such military cooperation.

He also criticized the European Union for cutting communication with Russia, describing it as a strategic mistake in efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

Rama added that Europe should always maintain open channels of communication, while stressing that Albania remains clearly aligned with its Western allies.
