Pete Hegseth has stated that the United States has achieved a “decisive military result within weeks” against Iran, drawing comparisons with much longer conflicts such as the wars in Vietnam and Iraq.
Hegseth emphasized that “Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” describing the operation as a “gift to the world.” He added that the mission is ongoing, while also suggesting that Tehran still has an opportunity to reach a “good and smart deal.”
He also highlighted a U.S. naval blockade targeting Iranian ports, calling it “ironclad” and noting that it is “becoming stronger every day,” according to BBC.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the region and continued military and strategic pressure by Washington on Tehran.
