Former President Vjosa Osmani visited the family of slain police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku following the verdict issued by the Basic Court of Prishtina in the Banjska case.

The court sentenced two of the accused to life imprisonment, while a third received a 30-year prison term for their role in the 2023 attack.

During her visit, Osmani paid tribute to Bunjaku’s sacrifice, emphasizing the need to continue safeguarding Kosovo’s freedom and territorial integrity.

“Kosovo has always had sons like Afrim Bunjaku who have stood up to defend it. His sacrifice, and that of his family, is part of the foundation of our state,” she said.

Osmani also delivered a strong message regarding security and sovereignty, stating that Serbia would not be allowed to threaten Kosovo again.

“Serbia’s boot will never step in this state again,” she declared, adding that the country must continue strengthening its institutions and defense.

Despite welcoming the court’s decision, Osmani stressed that justice remains incomplete without the surrender of Milan Radoičić, whom she accused of leading the attack. She further alleged that he acted under the direction of Aleksandar Vučić.

The visit underscores the continued political and emotional impact of the Banjska attack, as Kosovo leaders call for full accountability for those involved.
