Kosovo’s National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) has urged citizens to exercise increased caution during periods of high temperatures, highlighting the key warning signs of heat-related illness.

The Institute recommends that people contact elderly individuals who live alone at least once a day to ensure they are in good health and not experiencing complications caused by the extreme heat.

The NIPH also strongly advises that children should never be left alone in parked vehicles, warning that temperatures inside cars can rise rapidly and pose a serious, potentially life-threatening risk.

In addition, the Institute outlined several warning signs that require immediate medical attention, including:

  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Confusion
  • Excessive sweating

Health authorities encourage the public to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day, and regularly check on vulnerable family members and neighbors.
