The United States military announced that on April 24 it carried out a lethal strike against a vessel suspected of drug trafficking in the Eastern Pacific, as part of an operation led by U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM).
According to a statement published on the platform “X,” on the order of SOUTHCOM commander General Francis L. Donovan, the Joint Task Force “Southern Spear” conducted a kinetic strike against a vessel operated by organizations designated as terrorist.
U.S. intelligence confirmed that the vessel was moving along known drug trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was involved in narcotics trafficking activities.
“Two male narco-terrorists were killed during this operation. No U.S. military personnel were injured,” the statement said.
