Support for Russian President Vladimir Putin declined in late April, according to several surveys conducted by different institutions in Russia.

A poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation, an organization linked to the Kremlin, found that 73% of Russians approve of Putin’s performance—marking the lowest level recorded by this agency since late February 2022.

The survey, carried out between April 24 and 26, also shows that 13% of respondents believe Putin is doing a poor job, while 14% did not provide a clear answer.

Just one week earlier, the same institution reported a 76% approval rating, while 74% of respondents said they trusted the president.

During mid-April, the percentage of those who consider his performance poor rose from 11% to 13%, while distrust increased from 14% to 17%.

According to reports by Agentstvo, the current level of support is the lowest since February 25–27, 2022, when it stood at 71%.

Similar trends are confirmed by other surveys. On April 30, the Levada Center reported that, for the first time since the mobilization announced in autumn 2022, approval for Putin has dropped below 80%.

Meanwhile, VTsIOM has recorded seven consecutive weeks of declining support for the Russian president. According to data published on April 24, 24.1% of respondents said they do not trust Putin, while 23.3% do not approve of his performance.

Overall, the data suggests a gradual but consistent downward trend in support for Putin, although he continues to maintain relatively high approval ratings among the Russian public.
