The Kosovo Metrology Agency (AMK), through the Verification Commission for electricity meters established by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MINTI), announced that a series of irregularities were discovered following laboratory verification of 16 electricity meters belonging to consumers who had filed complaints.
According to the verification results, six cases revealed that the electricity meters had expired verification validity, while another six cases showed irregularities related to time and date deviations.
In addition, one case involved the withdrawal of type approval for an electricity meter, while three other meters remain under laboratory verification procedures.
Based on these findings, the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate (IQMT) imposed a fine of €35,000 on KEDS.
MINTI and AMK stated that inspections and verifications will continue in the coming days in order to protect consumers and ensure the proper functioning of electricity meters.
