The European Union in Kosovo is set to mark Europe Day tomorrow, May 9, with a diverse lineup of cultural, educational, and entertainment activities organized across the country. The celebrations aim to highlight European values and the ongoing partnership between the EU and Kosovo.
The centerpiece of the festivities in the capital will be the “Team Europe” Fair, hosted at Zahir Pajaziti Square. The fair will feature over 25 exhibitors, showcasing the collective impact of EU Member States, EU-funded businesses, non-governmental organizations, and various developmental programs. Notably, the Ukrainian Association in Kosovo, “Bridges of Friendship,” will also participate in the event.
According to a press release from the EU Office, the fair is designed to be inclusive for all ages, offering a blend of cultural performances and informative sessions that promote unity and cooperation.
Event Schedule: Prishtina
- 13:00: Official Opening of the “Team Europe” Fair at Zahir Pajaziti Square. The event will commence with a keynote address by Eva Palatova, the Acting Head of the EU Office in Kosovo.
- 20:00 – 22:00: A live concert will conclude the day’s events at Zahir Pajaziti Square, featuring a variety of musical performances.
Celebrations in North Mitrovica
The Europe Day agenda extends beyond the capital, with dedicated programming in North Mitrovica:
- 12:00: Daytime activities and informative sessions begin in the city center.
- 20:00: An evening concert will be held on King Peter I Street, bringing together local residents for a night of music and celebration.
These activities represent the EU’s commitment to engaging with all communities in Kosovo, fostering a shared European identity through culture and public dialogue.
