Former President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, has stated that powerful political and security circles from Belgrade were allegedly behind the so-called “S.Č. affair”, with the aim of destabilizing Montenegro and undermining political processes in Kosovo at critical moments for the region.
In an interview for TV E, Đukanović said that one of the main objectives of these structures was the destabilization of Kosovo and the direct damage to the credibility of NATO’s mission, KFOR.
“The goal was to compromise KFOR in Kosovo and its military command. For that purpose, 27 girls were being prepared to approach senior KFOR military officials. Among them was S.Č.,” Đukanović declared.
According to him, Montenegrin authorities had obtained information that the girls were being trained in the facilities of the Obilić football stadium in Belgrade.
“Fortunately, KFOR and UNMIK managed in time to receive the information and prevent that activity,” he added.
Đukanović claims that behind these developments stood Serbian military security and counterintelligence structures, linked to the political legacy of Slobodan Milošević and close circles of former Yugoslav president Vojislav Koštunica.
He said these structures viewed the destabilization of Kosovo as a tool to slow down or obstruct its international recognition process.
According to Đukanović, the “S.Č. affair” was part of a broader political and security strategy directed against Montenegro’s independence and the wider Euro-Atlantic orientation of the region.
