Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has formally invited the leaders of the opposition parties to a meeting to discuss the issue of the presidency, as he had previously announced.

The news was confirmed to IndeksOnline by Government spokesperson Arlind Manxhuka.

“Yes, this morning Prime Minister Kurti sent invitation letters for a meeting to the leaders of the PDK, LDK, and AAK,” Manxhuka said.

Kurti had stated earlier that he would extend the invitation once the Central Election Commission (CEC) completed the vote-counting process and officially certified the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections.

Meanwhile, Acting President Albulena Haxhiu announced that the constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo will be convened within the deadline set by the Constitution.

“In accordance with my constitutional responsibilities, the constitutive session of the Assembly of the Republic will be convened within the constitutional deadline, paving the way for the establishment of the new institutions resulting from the will of the citizens,” Haxhiu wrote on Facebook.
