British MP Alicia Kearns has condemned Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunović’s remarks about ethnic cleansing in Kosovo, describing them as “shameful” and “a stain on the Government of Serbia.”
“The Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunović’s shameful endorsement of ethnic cleansing in Kosovo is a stain on the Government of Serbia,” Kearns wrote in a post on X.
Kearns added that people now in their thirties still remember the atrocities committed by Milošević’s forces against them and their families, stressing that history cannot be erased.
“People now in their thirties remember the atrocities Milošević’s forces committed against them and their families. No attempt to justify them—or, even worse, to glorify them—can make the world forget what happened in Kosovo. Never forget.”
She shared the news that the European Union condemned Paunović’s statement after the Serbian minister said that, had she been in Slobodan Milošević’s position in 1998, she would have carried out the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo.
