After diplomatic efforts failed to stop Serbia’s brutal crimes in Kosovo, NATO intervened militarily.

This happened in 1999, yet Serbian government officials continue to accuse NATO over the intervention, describing it as an unjust act of aggression.

However, Serbian Minister Snežana Paunović herself confirmed that genocide was being committed against Kosovo Albanian civilians, and that it was NATO’s intervention that brought it to an end.

Paunović, Serbia’s Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and a member of Aleksandar Vučić’s party, also confirmed that Slobodan Milošević’s genocidal mindset has not disappeared but continues to exist within Serbia’s current regime.

In a scandalous statement, she said that, had she been in Milošević’s position, she would have ethnically cleansed Kosovo.

“If I were Slobodan Milošević, I would have ethnically cleansed Kosovo in 1998,” she told a Serbian television channel.

Despite the scandalous statement, which further exposed Serbia’s genocidal intentions Paunović was not dismissed. Instead, she was defended by her political leader, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, and Interior Minister Ivica Dačić.

Although such a statement was defended in Serbia, Kosovo responded by permanently banning Paunović from entering the country and declaring her persona non grata.
