A massive wildfire has broken out in the Ores area near Zaragoza, in northeastern Spain, burning more than 45,000 hectares of land so far.
Regional authorities have warned that it will take several days to bring the blaze under control and fully secure the affected area.
Aragon government representative Roberto Bermúdez de Castro said the fire’s complex behavior is making firefighting efforts extremely difficult.
As the flames continue to spread, several villages have been evacuated and multiple roads have been closed to ensure residents’ safety. No fatalities have been reported so far.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said he is closely monitoring the situation and urged citizens to exercise maximum caution and strictly follow the instructions of emergency authorities.
This is the second major wildfire to hit Spain within days. On July 9, a devastating wildfire in Andalusia claimed 13 lives and destroyed approximately 70,000 hectares of land.
