The Kosovo Police and NATO’s KFOR have held a working meeting in Prizren to assess the security situation, review summer preparedness, and reaffirm their cooperation in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

According to the Kosovo Police, the meeting took place on 15 July 2026 between Colonel Faton Alija, Regional Director of the Kosovo Police in Prizren, and Colonel Federico Mora, Commander of KFOR Regional Command West, together with his staff.

During the meeting, Colonel Alija informed KFOR that the security situation in the Prizren region remains largely calm. He also presented the Kosovo Police’s operational results for the first half of 2026.

The Kosovo Police noted that it has increased its operational readiness and intensified deployments during the summer months due to higher public activity, the arrival of members of the Kosovo diaspora, and the growing number of foreign tourists.

Special attention is also being given to major cultural events and festivals held in Prizren during the summer, including Rock & Blues Fest, Prizren Fest, and the internationally renowned DokuFest.

Colonel Mora thanked Colonel Alija for the Kosovo Police’s commitment to protecting public safety and praised the strong cooperation between the Kosovo Police and KFOR.

He also reaffirmed KFOR’s continued commitment to its mission of maintaining a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo.

The meeting concluded with both sides reiterating the importance of close coordination and continued cooperation to safeguard security and regional stability.
