Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca, announced that he participated in a ministerial meeting in Washington, D.C. focused on the growing threat of political terrorism, hosted by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

According to Konjufca, Kosovo’s participation in the forum is important because it enables the country to contribute to efforts aimed at preventing political terrorism and strengthening mechanisms that protect democratic societies from emerging security threats.

He warned that political terrorism is becoming increasingly organized, operating across national borders by exploiting international networks, financing channels, and digital platforms to undermine stability and democratic institutions.

“Today in Washington, D.C., I participated in the ministerial meeting on the growing threat of political terrorism, organized by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Kosovo’s participation in this ministerial is important because it allows our country to contribute to preventing political terrorism and strengthening the mechanisms that protect our societies from this threat. This phenomenon is becoming increasingly organized and operates beyond state borders, using international networks, financing, and digital space to undermine stability and democratic institutions,” Konjufca said.

He also reaffirmed the importance of Kosovo’s partnership with the United States.

“The United States remains our closest ally and strategic partner. Cooperation with the U.S. and other partner countries is essential for building a safer environment and protecting the values on which our democracies are founded. Kosovo will continue to contribute to every initiative that strengthens international cooperation and serves peace and security,” he added.
