Kosovo’s Ambassador to Germany, Faruk Ajeti, has held a meeting with Baden-Württemberg’s Minister-President Cem Özdemir, describing the encounter as an important step toward a new phase of cooperation between Kosovo and the German state.
Ajeti said he was the first ambassador of a European country to be received by Özdemir following his appointment as Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg.
According to Ajeti, the meeting reaffirmed the strong ties built over the years between Kosovo and Baden-Württemberg in various fields, including politics, economy, culture, and social relations.
“We reaffirmed our joint commitment to further deepen the partnership and establish institutional mechanisms of cooperation between our two governments,” Ajeti said.
The ambassador highlighted the special importance of Baden-Württemberg for Kosovo, noting that the region is home to one of the largest Kosovo diaspora communities in Germany. He described the diaspora as a key factor further strengthening the links between the two sides.
Economic cooperation was also among the main topics discussed, with Ajeti emphasizing the contribution of Kosovo and German companies to the development of trade relations.
He also pointed to strong air connectivity between Kosovo and Baden-Württemberg, stating that 25 direct flights between Pristina and Stuttgart, as well as four additional flights to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport, are planned during this week alone.
According to Ajeti, these connections reflect the close ties between citizens, families, and businesses in Kosovo and Germany.
The ambassador expressed optimism that cooperation between Kosovo and Baden-Württemberg will continue to expand, creating new opportunities in political, economic, and cultural fields.
