A Serbian passenger aboard a Ryanair flight from Greece to Germany has recounted the terrifying moments when he nearly lost his life after a window on the aircraft was damaged mid-flight.
L.K., who was seated next to the window, said the first thing he remembers was the sound of a loud explosion. After the cabin suddenly lost pressure, he found himself in an extremely dangerous situation at an altitude of around 4,500 meters (14,800 feet).
The passenger said he remembers very little from the incident but believes that wearing his seatbelt may have been one of the reasons he survived.
His wife described the ordeal as a life-threatening emergency and praised the quick response of fellow passengers who rushed to help.
According to her, a man believed to be Albanian played a crucial role in saving her husband’s life, pulling him back into the aircraft and helping block the damaged window using whatever materials were available inside the cabin.
“It was the passengers who reacted and helped,” she said, expressing gratitude to the man who intervened during the critical moments.
The passenger suffered head and neck pain but survived the incident and is now recovering. The dramatic event has shocked travelers and continues to draw international attention.
