More than 30 people have been injured in Skopje after a powerful storm swept through several areas of North Macedonia.
According to health authorities, most injuries were caused by fallen trees, branches, and various objects blown down by strong winds.
At the University Clinic “St. Naum of Ohrid,” 11 people sought medical assistance, with most treated as outpatients. One patient underwent surgery, while a tourist was kept in hospital for further treatment.
Doctors reported that the injuries mainly included cuts, bruises, and fractures. Several cases were caused by falling trees, roof parts, and other construction materials detached during the storm.
One patient with a head injury and a leg fracture was admitted for further treatment at the Neurosurgery Clinic.
North Macedonia’s Health Minister Sasho Klekovski said medical teams responded immediately, while damage to several healthcare facilities is currently being repaired.
Authorities continue assessing the full impact of the storm, which caused significant damage in several parts of Skopje.
