The Ibër-Lepenc Hydroeconomic Enterprise has officially requested residents of the cadastral area near Lake Ujman (Gazivoda) to submit documentation proving ownership of their land and properties within seven days.
According to a document obtained by KosovaPress, dated July 22, 2026, the request is addressed to all residents who own real estate in the area covered by the enterprise’s projects.
According to the notice, citizens are required to submit proof of ownership (title deed), a purchase or sale agreement, or any other legal document confirming ownership of the property.
The documentation, according to the official letter, may be submitted either in person at the Ibër-Lepenc offices near the Ujman dam or electronically via [email protected]. The deadline for submission is seven days from the publication of the notice.
The document also warns that failure to comply with the deadline may complicate the property verification process and affect individuals’ rights as property owners.
This development comes just one day after Ibër-Lepenc, with police assistance, began demolishing 11 structures in the Lake Ujman area, arguing that they had been built on property owned by the enterprise.
The operation has prompted international reactions. The European Union Office in Kosovo expressed regret over the demolitions, noting that they were carried out despite the affected residents having initiated court proceedings within the deadline set in previous notices issued by Ibër-Lepenc. Meanwhile, the German and United Kingdom embassies also called for the suspension of further actions and urged that the issue be resolved transparently through dialogue with the affected community.
In recent days, local civil society organizations from northern Kosovo have also raised concerns regarding the implementation of these measures, calling for full respect of legal procedures and the property rights of residents.
