Anti-government protests in Albania’s capital entered their 59th consecutive day on Tuesday, as demonstrators once again gathered in central Tirana before marching toward the Prime Minister’s Office.
As on previous days, protesters assembled at Skanderbeg Square before proceeding to the government headquarters, where speeches were delivered criticizing the country’s political leadership.
One protester, speaking through a megaphone, vowed that the demonstrations would continue and insisted participants would not leave the square.
“If this protest continues, the university doors will not open in September. We will not leave—we will leave this square only dead. But neither Rama nor Berisha will be remembered for anything,” the protester declared.
The demonstration is part of an ongoing protest movement that has continued for nearly two months, with participants maintaining daily gatherings in the Albanian capital.
