Another citizen of Kosovo has been detained by Serbian authorities, this time at the border crossing between Hungary and Serbia.
According to attorney Arianit Koci, the individual is Mentor Mustafa (44) from the village of Jasenovik in the municipality of Novobërdë. He was detained on Saturday at approximately 10:30 p.m. while traveling by bus from Stuttgart, Germany, to Kosovo together with his brother, Fejzullah Mustafa.
According to his brother’s account, Serbian authorities stated that the detention was related to a damaged identity card.
Koci said in a Facebook post that he was informed of the case shortly after midnight and immediately began efforts to clarify the circumstances surrounding the detention and to provide legal assistance.
He emphasized that he will take all measures within his authority to help resolve the case as quickly as possible, adding that no citizen of Kosovo should feel alone when facing legal or administrative issues abroad.
