The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, has called on Ecuador to consider recognizing the Republic of Kosovo during a meeting with Ecuador’s newly appointed ambassador, Esteban Assar Moscoso Bohman.
The Ecuadorian ambassador, who is based in Rome, presented his credentials to President Begaj today during an official ceremony at the Albanian Presidency.
During the meeting, Begaj congratulated the ambassador on his diplomatic mission and expressed Albania’s readiness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
According to the Albanian Public Broadcaster (RTSH), the Albanian president praised cooperation between the two countries within international organizations and highlighted the importance of Ecuador’s support for Kosovo.
Begaj urged Ecuador to consider recognizing Kosovo’s independence, describing such a step as a contribution to peace, stability, and security in the Western Balkans.
Ecuador remains among the countries that have not yet officially recognized the Republic of Kosovo.
Albania has continuously engaged in diplomatic efforts with countries that have not recognized Kosovo, seeking their support for Kosovo’s membership in international organizations.
