Kosovo Police have reported the discovery of several pieces of military clothing and equipment inside an open sewer shaft in North Mitrovica, with an investigation underway to determine their origin and identify anyone linked to the case.

According to police, the discovery was made at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday when officers from the North Mitrovica Police Station, while conducting a routine patrol, noticed an open sewer shaft on King Peter Street, now referred to as Zoran Đinđić Street.

During an inspection of the shaft, officers spotted a black plastic bag. After removing it, they found a quantity of military equipment inside.

The items included five green military caps, two tactical vests with three ammunition pouches each, one military belt, four magazine pouches designed to be attached to a belt, one radio pouch, two military ammunition bags and one pair of gloves.

The prosecutor was informed about the discovery and instructed authorities not to initiate formal proceedings at this stage.

The equipment was confiscated, while police said investigative work would continue to establish where the items came from and identify any individuals who may be connected to the case.
